Greetings
Friend of The North Fork Table and Inn,
Welcome to
those of you who have just
joined
us. I promise to only send out these little notes (as
irreverent as
they may be, they are very informative) when something of import is
impending.
And,
as promised, there are some things in the works.
First of all, Happy Summer! I hope you celebrated
in traditional fashion.
More than a few folks have asked me where the Coat Check
Closet
is now. It last checked in from South Africa where it was
working
in a Vuvuzela
factory
in order to pay for World Cup tickets. It mentioned that it
might follow the last few stages of the Tour
de France because it's close
friends with Mark Cavendish and loves the wines of Bordeaux.
On to the meat of the message, so to speak. How
about a Lunch
Truck?
I thought that would catch your attention. Over
the past
couple of weeks you may have seen a Camper Van parked out back, it was
one of
those hot dog trucks you see out on the North Road. We are
going
to convert it into a kiosk selling lunch to-goitems from
the yard behind the restaurant. It's going to be static for
the
time being, so you'll always know where to find it. We will,
of
course, do it in our inimitable style but you can expect things like
Lobster Rolls, Ceviche, Pulled Pork Sandwiches and the like.
Perfect for taking
on a picnic to the beach or a winery. This is just in the
beginning phases but we hope to have it up and running (ha ha) by
August 1st. I'll be updating the progress on our Facebook page,
so go and check it out every now and again.
There have been some exciting additions to the menu.
Chef added a Vegetarian dish to the Main Courses as well as a
fully Vegan Tasting Menu! If you and your guests
want to do
a tasting menu but one person is vegetarian... there's an app for that!
The three of you can do the regular tasting menu and your
vegetarian friend can have their very own tasting menu with their own
wine pairing! Chef Fleming has announced that
summer has
officially arrived with the addition of Sweet Corn Ice Cream to the
last course. I will be stepping up to the plate with the
traditional (for us) Tomato Water martini some time next week.
Speaking of next week, we are now open 7 days a week.
